We were so honoured to provide the disco for last Saturday’s retro-themed Cancer Research UK Charity Fundraiser, in memory of mother, wife and friend Sue Boldero. The evening raised a whopping £1540.00 for a truly fantastic cause, and a great night was had by all!
The Queen’s Hall in Watton travelled back in time for the night with a one-off NH Events retro disco set-up! Saturday’s disco featured original era light boxes, disco effect lights, UV canons, smoke machine, and even an original era thumping sound system. Quality 70s and 80s hits ensured the dancefloor was packed all night long. In truth we ran out of time to play all of our favourites from these great eras of music – DJ Neil could’ve kept going for hours more!
People really got stuck in with the 70s/80s fancy dress theme, with some truly fantastic outfits, such as Adam Ant, Leo Sayer and two female Freddie Mercurys to name but a few. The NH Events team even got involved with the dressing up, but we were no match for the great Mr T effort who won the fancy dress competition! It was a really fun charity night, complete with a raffle full of great prizes generously donated by local people and businesses.
What a fantastic cause and a truly fun but emotional night for all involved. We would like to say a huge well done to everyone for organising such a successful charitable event, and would like to express our sincere thanks for involving the NH Events team. Big thanks must also go out to everyone who attended this great event, and for everyone who contributed to such a fantastic total!
